Anonymous asked: Dear Wendy, no one understands me after I graduated. Everyone says I'm way too intense and think too much. What do I do?

Dear Anonymous,

In an ideal world: strap them into a contraption from A Clockwork Orange and brainwash them until they understand.

In the real world: As someone who thinks too much and is way too intense, are you okay? Do you need some yoga classes? Is this co-workers/friends/family saying this to you? I understand that sometimes you need to vent to friends/family and they think you’ve gone off the depend because you’ve let everything build up and now you just got to lay it all out. I suggest keeping a diary for thoughts, sometimes if I work things out they stop circling in my head. Truly though, only you can know if you are okay. Are you happy? Stressed? Are your thoughts and intensity holding you back or driving you forward? Have you been getting enough sleep and eating your servings of fruits and vegetables? To me, as long as your life is balanced and you are truly happy (not just telling yourself that you are) then keep doing what you are doing. Everyone’s stride is a different length. If people bring up concerns again and you truly are okay remind them that everyone functions differently and that if it is not adversely affecting them then it need not be their concern.

Fuckyeah,

Wendy
